This architectural landmark property in the city of Beverly Hills including a 25,000sf building designed by Paul Williams was modernized while preserving the integrity if it’s architectural heritage and materials. Another 82,000sf building, housing Global Crossing’s headquarters, which included executive offices, a cafeteria and technical facilities, was also renovated. The exterior architectural features, including windows and shutters, were replaced with identical custom made replicas providing additional sound and acoustical benefits. Structural reinforcements were added to comply with current codes and to support new components. An elevator was added connecting two executive floors to the executive dinning room below. A portion of roof was raised and replaced to allow removal of bearing walls, creating larger offices. All interior, wood paneling and molding, millwork and door assemblies, much of which were antique, were removed, repaired and reinstalled after walls and ceilings received new and state of the art mechanical, electrical, fiber, voice and data components. Work included complete replacement of base building mechanical and electrical systems.
